History
Fantasee Incorporated was founded by Dr. Patrick Shum in 2007. Dr. Shum, has been working as an ophthalmologist for 32 years and is very well known in Taiwan. He finished the Glaucoma Fellowship in Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in 1992, and began his study in Orthokeratology in 1995. The following year, he presented the first paper regarding Orthokeratology in the annual meeting of the Academy of Ophthalmology in Taiwan. In 2000, he started the fitting of the overnight Orthokeratology with his very own design in which the lenses were provided by the Correctech Incorporated. In 2003, Dr. Shum claimed that overnight Orthokeratology may have retarding effect on the myopic progression which was shown in a poster presentation in by the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO).

Throughout these years, Dr. Shum has been modifying the design of traditional RGP contact lenses for enhanced safety and comfort. Thus, the company was founded in 2007 for the purpose of creating a RGP contact lens with enhanced safety and comfort made with the best materials and finest processing techniques.

In 2009, Fantasee Incorporated was authorized by Bausch and Lomb Company to use Boston XO in the manufacturing of our RGP contact lenses. Thereafter, we have received both ISO 13485 and GMP Approval in 2010 respectively.

Fantasee Incorporated has the ability to design and create high quality RGP contact lenses suitable for different people including limbal lenses (with polynomial design), OK lenses, and multifocal lenses, etc.

Technology and Facility

Fantasee Incorporated owns the Precitech Optoform 40 CNC lathe and the Fisba Interferometer to assure the precision and quality of our contact lenses in order to deliver to the highest comfort and visual performance. We have performed an experiment on the comparison of the surface roughness between the surfaces cut by a manual lathe and Optoform 40 respectively.
